YNPN Advocacy Luncheon

If you are looking to gain valuable knowledge about how to prepare your nonprofit for the the upcoming Nevada State Legislature session, you won't want to miss this event!Â
The Young Nonprofit Professionals Network of Southern Nevada (YNPN) will be hosting an Advocacy Luncheon from 11:45 am until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Historic 5th Street School.
Learn how to be an effective advocate at the state level over a catered lunch with some of the nonprofit communities most well… Show more known leaders. The event is geared towad first-time advocates, but those who want to sharpen their adovcacy skills can attend as well!
The Luncheon will be divided into 3 sections:
11:45 am -12:15 p.m. - "Rules of Engagement" -  This presentation by former Assemblywoman April Mastroluca will give you an overview of what 501c3 nonprofit agencies can and can't do legally when it comes to lobbying.
12:15 pm - 12:45 p.m. -Â "Creating Relationships with Legislators" - This presentation by former Senator Valerie Wiener will teach you tools and tricks to building relationships with the decision makers.
12:45 pm - 1:30 p.m - " Best Practices Panel Discussion" -Â Â .Moderated by Senator Wiener, our panel of experts will share their experiences on how they have become success advocates for the nonprofit community adn their respetive agencies. Our Panel includes:

Although this ticket is only for the luncheon, feel free to attend our partnering ageny's FREE events earlier in the day as YNPN is collaborating with the Children’s Advocacy Alliance, the Child Welfare Network and UNLV’s Nonprofit, Community and Leadership Center to host a half day of Advocacy events!Â

9:00 a.m.-10:15 a.m. Â - Â The Child Welfare Network meetingÂ
10:30 - 11:30 am  - The Children’s Advocacy Alliance will release their Children’s Report CardÂ
